Owner Foster Program
Because foster homes are often in short supply, we've added a program called "Owner Foster" which allows us to help a greater number of animals. In this program, owners agree to act as the foster home for their pet. They facilitate transportation to and from adoption fairs until a new home can be found. Owner fosters for dogs may be needed to remain at the fair as "handler" should there not be enough volunteers. Due to cats being in cages during the fair, it will not be necessary for those owners fostering the cats to remain during the fair.Owner-fostered cats must have record of a negative Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus Test. They must also have records of current Distemper Combination and Leukemia vaccines. They need to be spayed or neutered and have a temperament test prior to attending a fair. As the owner, you will be asked to fill out a personality profile to facilitate a compatible match with a potential adopter. These cats will be adopted to indoor homes only. If you feel your cat must remain indoor/outdoor, this program will not suit your needs.
Owner-fostered dogs must be current on their Rabies and Distemper vaccinations to attend the adoption fairs. They need to be spayed or neutered and have a suitable temperament for our adoption fair.
